F.A.Q.

  • How do you open the StemBender®?
    • There is a slit on the side of the StemBender®.  A quick tug on either side of it reveals which side to open.  An easy way to open it is to feel for the slit, rather than trying to look for it.
  • What’s the best way to put the StemBender® onto the plant?
    • A good technique is to open the StemBender® wide at the slit to start.  Doing this allows you to easily position the StemBender® onto the plant before it flexes closed.
  • What are the benefits of Super Cropping using Low Stress Training (LST) techniques?
    • Using LST techniques, you can help the plant maintain a proper feeding distance from the light source.
    • Topping a plant can help maximize overall growth efficiency and protect it from burning. In conjunction with Super Cropping techniques, one can create multiple shoots to increase overall flowering and yield.
    • Opening up your plant with LST techniques can allow for greater air circulation to help maintain the plant’s wellness.
    • Opening up the canopy can allow for more feeding sources on the plant, while also giving greater visibility into the plant’s interior for identifying disease or pests early on.
  • I am already pinching and bending. Why should I use the StemBender®?
    • StemBender® can easily be applied, adjusted, or removed in seconds.
    • Using StemBender® greatly reduces joint and stem damage that is common with pinching/bending methods.
    • Unlike other methods that use various tapes, wipes, splints, and other cumbersome DIY tools, StemBender® offers you more control in your bends. It also holds in place at the joint longer as it heals and grows towards the light source.
  • Is the StemBender® re-usable?
    • The StemBender® can be easily removed from the plant and can be re-positioned or re-used on another plant.  With care, the StemBender® can be used multiple times.
  • What is the StemBender® made of?
    • The StemBender® is made of recycled rubber and aluminum wire.
  • What are the different uses for the StemBender®?
    • StemBender® can be used to shape the whole plant or can act as a splint in the case of a broken stem.
  • Could the StemBender® constrict the plant stem?
o   The flexible nature of the StemBender® allows it to expand as your plant stem grows, causing no constriction.X
